Send a Bulk SMS #
Use this option to send a SMS to the selected set of names. Each person will get a unique SMS without it being a group SMS
Bulk SMS are commonly used to: #
- Request an information update
- Send information about openings
- SMS marketing material
- Give a position status update
Opt In #
Candidates must āOpt Inā to receive a bulk SMS. There is an insert field for āSMS Opt Inā and āSMS Opt Outā that can be added to a form letter, signature, or stationary. By default there is a SMS Opt In form letter (SMS Opt-in Form) which cannot be erased.
To Configure The Provided Form Letter #
- Select System from the main toolbar
- Select Form Letters
- Name Letters
- Locate the pre-built letter titled āSMS Opt-In Formā and select
- Edit this letter to fit your companyās needs, notice the Opt In and Opt Out links are already included.
To Create a Custom Form Letter #
- Select System from the main toolbar
- Select Form Letters
- Name Letters
- Add Letter
- Create your custom letter here, click here to learn more about creating form letters
- Select Insert Fields to add the Opt In and Opt Out links accordingly. Be sure to include instructions for the recipients (Text Subscribe to [[SMS Opt In Link]])
- *Note: SMS Opt In Link will auto populate with the phone number to text
Sending the Opt In Default Form Letter #
- Select Rollups from the main toolbar (Not sure how to create a rollup? Click here to learn how.)
- Select the names you wish to send the letter to
- From the action menu on the right side of the screen select SMS
- Choose Opt Out to view the names that have not yet opted in to receive SMS messages
- Select the names and choose invite
Use standard bulk emailing procedure to send the custom form letter.Ā #
Sending a Bulk SMS #
- Select Rollups from the main toolbar
- Choose the rollup you wish to send an SMS (This can also be done through a search results list.)
- Choose the records to which you would like to send the SMS. This can be done by individually checking their names or using the select function.
- Choose the SMS icon from the action toolbar on the right side of the screen.
- Compose the SMS
- Click Send
Ring Central does throttle or limit how many SMS messages can be sent per phone number to 10 per 60 seconds. In a search result or rollup you can select individually or by page. Select all is not an option due to the limitations.
