The user’s session will remain active as long as they continue to navigate within the system. The Global Timeout setting governs how long PCR should wait before ending the session if a user appears to be idle.
NOTE: The system will automatically log the user out if their IP address changes mid-session, regardless of the timeout setting. VPNs and public networks which regularly change the IP can cause sessions to be closed prematurely. See the Database Security article for information on IP whitelisting.
- Click System in the Main Menu.
- Click Database Maintenance.
- Click Global Timeout.
- Enter the length of time in minutes after which an idle user should be logged out. (e.g. 180 will allow the session to remain idle for 3 hours.)
- Click Save in the lower right.
If you are using the PCRecruiter API, this timeout will also apply to your API user(s) sessions.
