Capture for Chrome

This newest version of Capture provides users with two ways to capture profiles from various social sites. These include:

  • LinkedIn
  • Indeed
  • Dice
  • Zoom Info
  • Xing
  • Facebook
  • CareerBuilder

With this update, you will noticed enhanced duplicate checking options as well as additional options available when importing.

Login to Capture

Access one of the above mentioned sites to login to the Capture tool. Once there, select the Capture icon in your Chrome Toolbar. Here you will be presented with fields to enter your PCR url (ex. https://www2.pcrecruiter.net/pcr.asp?uid=odbc.yourcompany), username, password, and appropriate database. You will then login to begin capturing.

Setup

Once you are logged into our updated Capture tool you will need to choose your method of capturing records. To do so, click the extension in your Chrome browser and choose Options. This will bring up a window in which you can choose the Basic or Advanced Capture setting. Use the Notifications dropdown on this screen to modify the length for which the Capture confirmation notification in the bottom right of the screen will remain after capturing.

Basic

Basic Capture is a simplified capture tool, similar to our original release, with a few new options.

  1. Control where the name record is parsed to by utilizing the company dropdown:
    1. Default: Places records into your default company; typically titled Candidates, Talent pool, Resumes, etc.
    2. Parsed Company: Looks for the Current Company on the profile and places the candidate under that Company, if that company does not exist it will create it automatically.
    3. Specific Company: Allows you to select a specific existing company from your database you would like to add the new candidates to.
  2. Use the rollup field to select a rollup list you would like the candidates to be added to automatically.

Advanced

The Advanced Capture tool provides users with merging capabilities when adding records to the database.

  1. Control where the name record is parsed to by utilizing the company dropdown:
    1. Default: Places records into your default company; typically titled Candidates, Talent pool, Resumes, etc.
    2. Parsed Company: Looks for the Current Company on the profile and places the candidate under that Company, if there is a similar company in the database you will be prompted to add the name to that company or create an entirely new company.
    3. Specific Company: Allows you to select a specific existing company from your database you would like to add the new candidates to.

Capturing Profiles

To capture a profile from any of our supported sites (LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice, etc.) you will begin by accessing the profile. Please note that you will not be able to Capture until you are on an actual profile, not a listing of multiple profiles.

Basic Capture

  1. Access the profile you wish to capture
  2. The PCR Capture icon will appear along the right side of your browser. If there is a possible duplicate detected a red circle will appear with the number of possible duplicates detected. Please keep in mind this is a quick duplicate check and you may receive different results when you are capturing. Click anywhere in the icon to capture.
  3. When the candidate has been successfully added to your database you will receive a notification in the bottom right portion of your screen. Selecting this notification will automatically jump you to the new record.
  4. If more than one duplicate record is detected a panel will appear along the right side showing you the possible duplicate issues and allowing you to choose how to proceed with the profile. If only one duplicate is detected that record will automatically be updated.

Advanced Capture

  1. Access the profile you wish to capture
  1. The PCR Capture icon will appear along the right side of your browser. If there is a possible duplicate detected a red circle will appear with the number of possible duplicates detected. Please keep in mind this is a quick duplicate check and you may receive different results when you are capturing. Click anywhere on the icon to capture.
  2. The Advanced Capture menu will now appear with several options:
    1. Duplicate records displayed: This will display a ranking scale to show how much of a match the duplicate is with the existing record in PCR. This will allow you to see which records have a higher match ranking of duplicate information, versus records that may just share the same name and city. You will also have the ability to choose to “Add As New Record.”
    2. Once you have selected the existing record or new record choose Next.
      1. Currently Assigned Company – this means you have chosen to update an existing record and you have the option to keep the name within their current company
      2. Captured Company – this is the company listed as their current employer on their profile
      3. Matching Company List – choose to add the record to an existing company
      4. Select Company from PCR Database – begin typing to select a company ‘On the Fly’
    1. Select next to review your data
    2. Using the Advanced Capture Menu you can select which information you would like to keep and which you would like to overwrite with the profile information. If information already exists you will have the option to “Change.”
    3. Select Save when finished.

Duplicate Checking

The PCR Capture tool duplicate checks on 4 pieces of data:

  • Social ID
  • Social Profile
  • Email
  • Name

Based on these four criteria there are four ranking stages as shown below:
