{"id":5212,"date":"2016-01-19T18:10:31","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T18:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learning2.pcrecruiter.net\/?p=5212"},"modified":"2026-03-12T19:33:45","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T19:33:45","password":"","slug":"adding-companies","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/learning.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/docs\/adding-records\/adding-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"Adding Companies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo watch\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Adding Companies\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/941602567?h=8351e34caa&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"750\" height=\"465\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the following instructions to add clients, vendors, and prospective client companies to your database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Company Records are commonly used to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Store valuable information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Easily access their website and social media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research the company using Google and Social Media Search Tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View and add its employees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View and document calls, emails and follow-ups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add and monitor job orders received<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Track candidates submitted and ultimately placed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Add a Company Record<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Company<\/strong> on your Main Toolbar to open the Company Search Menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Add<\/strong><strong>Company<\/strong> action icon on the right side of your screen\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From an existing Company Record, the <strong>Edit Company<\/strong> navigation tab also has a <strong>Add Company<\/strong> icon in the action menu dropdown<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the Company Details and click <strong>Save<\/strong> (the dialog box will close once the company is added to the database)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Default Company<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The PCR database administrator should create&nbsp;<em>one<\/em>&nbsp;Default Company in the database. Since PCRecruiter&#8217;s structure requires that all names be associated with a company, the Default Company serves as a holding place for names imported via the Inhaler, candidates who register via web extensions, or names imported from a list when a company is not defined. You may also add any name to the is company when their current company is unknown, or you do not need their current company as a record in your database. This Company is accessed by selecting <strong>Display Default Company<\/strong> from the action menu of a company record.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"important\">The default company is determined by the field titled &#8220;Default Company Type&#8221; being set to&nbsp;<em>Default Company<\/em>.
