Attach Files to a Record

Commonly Used To:

  • Store fee agreements
  • Store cover letters
  • Store miscellaneous outside documents pertaining to the record
  • Store global attachments

 

How to Upload an Attachment:

  1. Select the Attachments navigation icon
  2. Click Add from the action menu
  3. Browse for and select the file to upload
  4. The upload will automatically begin
  5. Click Done to close the window

How to Add a Linked File:

This option is commonly used to store URL as an attachment rather than storing in a field. This is a legacy feature, we now recommend using a field to store this information for easier access.

  1. Click the Attachments navigation icon
  2. Click Add from the action menu
  3. Click the Linked File charm
  4. Give the attachment a description and add the URL to the File Name field
  5. Click Save

How to Add an HTML Page

This option is commonly used to store website pages as an attachment.

  1. Click the Attachments navigation icon
  2. Click Add from the action menu
  3. Click the HTML Charm
  4. Give the attachment a description and paste the web page or HTML into the HTML text
  5. Click Save
