Portal Drag and Drop

The newest portal update features a variety of uses for Drag and Drop technology. The newest Outlook Portal update can be found at https://www.pcrecruiter.net/support/downloads

Please note: As always, Portal is only available for Windows.

Create a New Name Record

You may now drag and drop an email into your database which contains a resume for a new candidate. The system will duplicate check based on the email address the email was received from. Also, you must have the PCRecruiter reading pane enabled.

  1. Locate the email of the person you wish to create a record for.
  2. Drag their email to the viewing pane
  3. Drop the email into the Create New Name Record
  4. The standard Add Resume screen will appear
  5. Modify any fields as necessary
  6. Save your new record

Add to a Rollup

To a Selected Rollup

  1. Open the rollup list you would like to add the record to in the Outlook View Pane
  2. Locate the email pertaining to the name you would like to add to the rollup
  3. Drag the email to the rollup
  4. Drop the email into the appropriate rollup icon
  5. The system will add anyone with the corresponding email address to the list; if they do not exist in the system a new record will be created as usual.

To Recent Rollup

  1. Access your recent rollups by selecting Rollups from your PCR Toolbar
  2. Locate the email pertaining to the name you would like to add to the rollup
  3. Drag the email to the Recent Rollup Window
  4. All of your recent rollups will appear as charms
  5. Drop the email into the rollup you would like it to become part of
  6. The system will add anyone with the corresponding email address to the list; if they do not exist in the system a new record will be created as usual.

Select Multiple Emails

This new drag and drop function can also be utilized when selecting multiple emails. To select multiple emails simply select the desired emails either by using control or shift accordingly, then you will just drag and drop as usual.

Add Attachment to Current Record

When dragging and dropping attachments you will first need to locate the record you wish to add them to.

Add to Current Record

  1. Using the PCR Viewing Pane access the name record you wish to add the attachment to
  2. Drag and Drop the email into the record
  3. Select the attachments you would like to include from the popup

Add to Recently Viewed

Instead of opening the current record in PCR you can also drag and drop when the record you wish to add to is displayed in the recently viewed. When utilizing this method you just need to drop the email into the correct record

Lastly, by dropping the email into the Global Attachments charm the attachments will become global and can be sent from anywhere within the system.

Add/Update Resume

When dragging and dropping the new attachment you will also see the option to Add/Update Resume, by dragging and dropping here the new attachment will save as the current resume.

Add Activity

Drag and drop can also be used to create activities.

  1. Locate the name record you wish to create the activity for
  2. Drag and drop the email into the Create New Activity charm

Add Files from Desktop

All of the above can also be utilized from your desktop. By opening your File Explorer you may drag and drop any file into your Outlook Portal reading pane.
